About KyaDekhu
KyaDekhu(“what should I watch?” in Hindi) answers one question in under 60 seconds: what to watch tonight. Tell it which streaming apps you have, who's watching and your mood, and it gives you three picks you can press play on right now — then learns from every swipe.
How the picks work
First we keep only titles that are on your apps (or free), in your language, that fit your time — one episode or a full movie night — and that you haven't seen. Choosing “Family” keeps only U, U/A 7+ and U/A 13+ titles. Then each title is scored:
- 40% — how closely it matches your taste profile
- 25% — how well it fits tonight's mood
- 15% — vote-weighted IMDb rating
- 10% — newly arrived on one of your apps
- 10% — how widely it's been watched
Pick #1 is the best match, #2 deliberately a different genre, #3 a wildcard slightly outside your comfort zone.
Privacy: what we keep (and don't)
KyaDekhu has no accounts. To remember your taste across visits, and to let you move it to another phone, we keep:
- An anonymous device ID: a random number in a first-party cookie (
kd_id), not linked to you. - Your taste profile: the apps you picked, your taste scores, liked and seen titles, and preferences.
- Anonymous usage events, such as which picks were shown, swipes and Watch taps, to improve the picks. Kept 180 days. Not sent at all if your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switched on.
- A restore code, only if you ask for one (“Use KyaDekhu on another phone”).
- An alerts address, only if you turn alerts on: the push address and keys your browser gives us, so we can send at most one alert a day (a saved title arriving on your apps, or Friday's new picks). Messages go through your browser's own push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft) and are encrypted so only your browser can read them. Turn alerts off in Taste DNA at any time.
We never store your name, email, phone number or IP address, and never the words you type or say in the Ask box (only how long it was and which chips it became). Voice input is handled by your browser. “Forget me” on the Taste DNA screen deletes your profile, restore codes, alert subscription and this device's events from our server and clears the app on your phone.
Where the data comes from
Title details and posters come from TMDB, India streaming availability from JustWatch, ratings from IMDb and identifiers from Wikidata. The catalogue (25,256 titles) was last refreshed 23 October 2026.

- Yes. KyaDekhu is free, has no ads and needs no login.
- What does KyaDekhu store about me?
- An anonymous device ID (a random number in a cookie), your taste profile (apps, taste scores, liked and seen titles, preferences) and anonymous usage events (for example which pick you swiped or which app you opened). - No. KyaDekhu only recommends; the Watch button opens the title in the app that streams it (Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, etc.).
